Welcome to SmithRite Custom Bonded BulletsBullet DesignAll of our spitzer bullets are designed with six-caliber ogive for maximum velocity retentions, with protected points to resist battering of the point in the magazine; our round nose bullets have a one-caliber ogive, with a non-tapering jacket promoting maximum penetration, and large wound channels. This is a must, on large or dangerous game at close to medium range.Smithrite bullets are built with the ultimate material, pure copper jacket and pure lead. Fusion bonded together, the soft pure copper jackets mushrooms and expands easily and evenly to support the lead core. All commercial made jackets are made of guilding metal which is a very hard and brittle material that fractures and ruptures on impact. Guilding metal is a harder and brittler material than anneled soft copper jackets, increasing bore wear and pressure. Soft copper jackets are easy on the bore and rifling for improved accuracy. Smithrite bullets are made with pure soft lead. Our cores are fusion bonded, welding them to the soft copper jacket making it impossible to separate, eliminating jacket and core separation with guaranteed high weight retention. Commercial made bullets use a core of harder lead containing antimony and or tin. This material is less maluable, and less dense, making it a poorer ballistic material than pure lead. |
